The Benefits of Replacing Your Windshield with OEM Glass

Over the time you have your car, there is a very good chance you will, at some point, have to replace your windshield. When you do, there are several benefits to choosing OEM, or Original Equipment Manufacturer glass over aftermarket.

OEM glass comes directly from the manufacturer of your original windshield. This means that your windshield will be sized perfectly to fit your vehicle, and the glass was designed with the precise specifications of your car in mind. Aftermarket glass is more readily available at most auto shops but is more likely to be too large or small for the size of your windshield, and noise reduction can be affected as a result of improperly sized glass. The tint may vary from your previous OEM windshield. An OEM windshield will share any extra features your old windshield possessed, such as heat retention or rain sensors. Quality of aftermarket glass may vary, and retaining your expensive, handpicked features will not be a given.  Depending on the manufacturer of the aftermarket glass, your windshield may or may not be covered under warranty. While aftermarket prices, availability and downtimes may look appealing, an OEM windshield is guaranteed to protect your vehicle and passengers.
