Lap shear strength is the ability of a material to withstand separation due to non-linear binding or opposing forces. Clarity® Windshield Repair Resin used in a windshield repair cures stronger than the surrounding glass. The lap shear strength of the Clarity® resin is higher than that of the surrounding glass. As a result, resin in a repaired area is stronger than the surrounding glass.
Windshield repair resins must ideally match the refractive index of the glass in which it is injected as a measure of windshield safety. Clarity® Windshield Repair Resin matches the refractive index of glass used in the production of vehicle windshield, resulting in optimal driving clarity for safety. That’s why we named it Clarity®.
Accelerated cure time of windshield repair resin ensures optimal performance such that a vehicle can safely be driven following a repair. Clarity® Windshield Repair Resin completely cures in one-minute with proper ultra-violet exposure, making it the fastest curing, best performing resin available.
A proper repair can only be achieved with a full and complete fill of resin into the damaged area. Clarity® Windshield Repair Resin viscosity allows for a complete fill even in the most microscopic of breaks. This is possible because it is the least viscous and highest performing windshield repair resin available. Clarity® resin carries a viscosity measure close to that of water for optimal fill capabilities. Once filled, Clarity® Windshield Repair Resin will not shrink. Other resins on the market shrink by more than 10%, leaving a repair incomplete at the end of critically sensitive legs.
